B I O G R A P H Y
Born in 1990. Florence Giroux Gravel is an emerging artist who lives and works in Québec. She graduated from Université Laval in Art History (BACHELOR’S degree), from Université Panthéon-Sorbonne Paris 1 in Fine Arts and Sciences of art (MASTER’S degree) and from New York University (NYU) in Studio Art (Certificate). She has exhibited in Canada, the United States and France, notably at Musée Marius-Barbeau in Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce (solo show), at Ubisoft Montréal (solo show), at ARTCH emerging art fair in Montreal, at Galerie AVE in Montréal (solo show), at The Commons Gallery in NYU and at Cité Internationale Universitaire in Paris (solo show). Her works are part of private collections as well as the Claridge collection. Florence is recipient of a Public Art Mentoring grant from Première Ovation for the year 2020 and also received an ARTCH production grant in 2019 (in collaboration with Art Souterrain, the Carrefour jeunesse-emploi Montréal Centre-Ville and the Conseil des arts de Montréal). In fall, she will participate in Foire d’art contemporain de St-Lambert (FAC) as well as the 14th edition of Créations-sur-le-champ / Land Art at Mont-Saint-Hilaire and will exhibit at the Maison de la culture Villebon in winter 2021.
